Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars: Bruno Mars might just be one of my favorite artists because he combines the Motown I grew up listening to (and still today) with modern beats and lyrics. This song is no exception and is too fun!

OAT Cashmere Adele Travel Wrap: This is up there with the most luxurious things I own and I knew I had to share it so I bought one for my mom for Hanukkah as well. It's so cozy and while it does look amazing while traveling, it's also great to just snuggle up in while at home.

Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: I received this in my Influenster Frosty Vox Box this month which came just in time because I was almost out of eye makeup remover. It's super gentle, not too oily, and really gets my eye makeup off at the end of the day.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner: Another goodie from my Influenster Frosty Vox Box which just so happens to be one of my favorite eyeliners of all time. It's super dark and smooth and applies easily without skipping on my lash line.

MAC Quarry Eye Shadow: I got this earlier in the month through the Back 2 MAC program in an effort to experiment with colors I don't usually play around with.

Indulgio Sweet & Salty Caramel Cappuccino: Typically, I only drink coffee twice a week before class on Tuesday & Thursday but finals week was an exception this month. One of my roommates brought these back to Boston after Thanksgiving break and I think I used almost every K-Cup in the package.

Review: Proactiv+ 30 Days Check-In

I've been using Proactiv+ for just about 30 days now so it's time for a check-in, but first a little background on my skin.

I used to break out a lot around my mouth when I was younger, and today I tend to break out more around the edges of my face and occasionally around my chin, but I have a lot of hyper pigmentation left behind from breakouts of the past that I have been focusing on diminishing over the past several years.

Before starting Proactiv+

30 Days In (it is that time of the month…which I believe explains the breakouts around my mouth, also sorry I look so miserable in these photos, I promise I'm not!)

I've seen the most improvement around my nose, which I didn't even think needed much improving per se. The size of my pores on and around my nose have significantly diminished, which I think is thanks to the Pore Targeting Treatment. However, I think that this product is also the culprit behind the dry and flaky skin I've been (unfortunately) experiencing around my mouth. The Complexion Perfecting Hydrator does help a bit at getting rid of dry skin, but a really good scrub in the shower with the Skin Smoothing Exfoliator will usually do the trick.

Overall, I have been seeing some results that I like so far, but have been experiencing majorly dry skin because of my skincare switch.

Review: Sassoon Salon in Boston, MA

Just before my event that I co-hosted last Thursday, I headed to the Sassoon Salon for a blow-out and style. I very rarely get my hair done before events because I never feel like there's much to do with it.

My stylist was Lena Vinnitsky, Assistant Creative Director for Sassoon Salon Boston and she was amazing as was everyone else at the salon! We had a great time chatting while she curled my hair to perfection. I asked for tighter curls since the time of my appointment was a few hours before the event, so I knew they would fall to softer waves by the event.

Lena used amazing products by Kérastase (one of my favorite brands) on my hair that all worked so well and my hair lasted well into the next day. Stop by Sassoon Salon for your holiday hair appointment!

Magical Mondays at Chestnut Hill Square

On Monday evening, I headed out to Chestnut Hill Square in Chestnut Hill, MA for an evening of pampering at drybar followed by dinner at Seasons 52. I had never been to either location so I was especially excited for the evening!

First, we headed to drybar and were welcomed with champagne, cheese & crackers to enjoy while perusing what the blow-out only salon had to offer. I decided to go with the Cosmo-Tai! I never wear my hair wavy so this was a lot of fun to try out!

Next, we headed over to Seasons 52 just across the Square for an amazingly decadent dinner which all of us could barely finish! We were greater by amazing goodie bags (highlights: Starbucks reusable mug, Anthropologie socks, Starbucks gift card, Sweet cupcakes, & more!) and an amazing server Josh who took amazing care of us! The highlight of the meal was the fifth course and main entree- the surf and turf!

Six decadent courses later, we all headed out for the evening, with fabulous hair and a fabulously full stomach after a rich meal. I had an amazing time and definitely recommend checking out Seasons 52 and drybar at Chestnut Hill Square!

Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel: This is a great spot treatment but I'm trying to use less harsh products on my skin since it's been super dry lately.

Olay Regenerist Intensive Repair Treatment: This seemed to last nearly forever since I only used the smallest bit onto a smile line forming on my forehead. It seems to have diminished it over time, so we'll see what happens when I don't use it.

Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes: For products like this, I have found that I don't need to use a super expensive or even drugstore version because these do the trick just fine.

Crest Glamourous White Luxe 3D Whitestrips: I get these every few months or so and just finished up this box. These are definitely worth the money and out of all the varieties that Crest offers, this is the best one I've used.

Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid Deodorant: One of my favorite deodorants is this one. It works amazingly well at keeping odor and wetness at bay.

Bath & Body Works Aqua Blossom PocketBac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel: I keep one of these in my desk and one in my purse so I use these pretty frequently.

Nature's Bouty Fish Oil: Just like a majority of the other things included in this post, I take these daily.

Tory Burch Perfume: I really enjoyed the smell of this. While it was sometimes too much for everyday wear, I did like it for evenings.

Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion: My all-time favorite body lotion. 'Nuff said.

Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream: I love this hand cream for use before bed! The scent can be a bit overpowering, but overall, this is a must-have!

Queen Helene Hand & Body Cocoa Butter Lotion: I bought a few of these over the summer for traveling purposes and can't see myself using the other few that I have. Compared to my favorite Vaseline lotion (see above) this does absolutely nothing.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel: This is one of my favorite body washes. I'd rather use it in the summer time because the scent can be a bit too sweet for the winter.

Sephora Smoothing Body Scrub: This is kind of a meh product for me, it doesn't do too much so I'm on the hunt for a new exfoliator!

Whish Lavender Shave Inhibitor: I absolutely LOVE this product. I've been using it since the summer and use it after I shave my legs. I can definitely see myself re-purchasing this but maybe in the summer.

Skintimate Mandarin Burst Shave Gel: Just your classic shave gel, I'm not picky on scents as long as it's Skintimate.

MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microfinish Powder: This is my go-to face powder. While it is translucent there's something about it that makes your foundation underneath look even more flawless and almost airbrushed.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray: This is a must-have for making my makeup last longer without making my skin get oily.

Urban Decay Primer Potion: This has lasted me well over a year which is surprising considering I use it nearly every day. It's my go-to eye primer and has already been re-purchased!

philosophy The Present Clear Makeup: I bought this a few years ago and had it sitting in the bottom of my train case for the longest time so it was definitely time to downsize.

MAC Brule Eyeshadow: This is a shadow I wear everyday from my upper lash line to my brow bone before applying any other shadow color. It gives my lids an overall more polished look before I even put on real color.

Holiday Gift Guide 2014: The College Student

This is the first in a 4-week holiday gift guide series, stay tuned the next three Monday's in December!

As a college student, I absolutely HATE when my extended family members ask me what I want for the holidays. To be honest, I'd be fine with a gift card to Whole Foods, Starbucks, or Target. Lovely Day by Bill Withers: Little known fact about me: I love Motown and similar music. I listen to this when I need a bit of motivation when working an opening shift at work or before my early morning classes and it always does the trick.

NYX 'Tiramisu' Butter Gloss: This is climbing to the top of my favorite glosses list. It's the perfect every day shade and consistently looks amazing with whatever I'm wearing. The formula is the perfect consistency and I just can't get enough!

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black: I received a sample size of this with a recent Sephora order and I'm  highly considering purchasing the full size or asking for it as an upcoming holiday gift. It's very different from the sweet scents I know and love, but that's what makes it interesting.

Peter Thomas Roth Gentle Complexion Correction Pads: I picked these up online in the recent Sephora VIB Sale and these are doing an amazing job of acting like a toner of sorts. Stay tuned for a full review next week!

Echo Design Milk Made Tubular Snood: I purchased this at work earlier this month and I can't stop wearing it! It's super warm and I absolutely love the burgundy shade with my complexion.

Exhale Cool Beam Facial: This is something I've never listed in a favorites before, but it's actually a service. I began working at exhale almost 3 months ago and I absolutely love it! I tried out the Cool Beam facial and that's what I can seriously credit to my skin being more amazing this month than ever before in addition to the Peter Thomas Roth product mentioned above. I can definitely see myself getting another cool beam in the future.

Peppermint Bark: Tis the season to make homemade treats with your friends. Our go-to easy snack? Homemade peppermint bark! Just melt chocolate and add crushed candy cane.



It's been a long three months away from home and I'm so happy to be in Philadelphia with my family even if it is only for a few more days. These have been some of the craziest and most emotion-filled few months of my life and going home was what I needed to cheer me up. Hope you all had a beautiful Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving for several reasons but here's just a few:

-The Gossip Girl & Friends Thanksgiving episodes are among my favorite all-time episodes of any TV show. I fully intend on watching them next week when I fly home.

-I get complete control of the kitchen. 

-The food eaten on Thanksgiving has better food than any other holiday.

-I get to head home for the first time in almost 3 months. 

Enjoy a few serious (and a few fun) outfits to wear for Thanksgiving dinner.

Recipe: Orange Chocolate Chip Muffins

In case you can't tell Laura Vitale is one of my favorite chef's. Her recipes are easy to follow and her videos are fun to watch. Don't believe me? Her youtube channel popularity has gotten her a TV gig on The Cooking Channel, with her own show Simply Laura. The proof is in the pudding. Or in this case, the proof is in the muffins.

These muffins are so good and (of course) super easy to bake! All of the flavors from the orange, chocolate, and streusel topping complement each other perfectly for a fast and easy fall treat.

Heavenly Touch Denim from Riders by Lee Launch

On Wednesday night I headed over to the W Boston hotel for a fun blogger-only launch party hosted by Riders by Lee in honor of their new Heavenly Touch Denim collection!

The night was filled with blogger chats, drinks and snacks (including a delicious cookie/cannoli bar), a little photo shoot, and of course- trying on the perfect pair of jeans. 

I'll be honest with you- I hate jeans. I don't even own a pair (do jeggings count?) and you can find me in leggings almost everyday. These jeans are SO comfy. I opted for a dark wash skinny leg mid-rise pair and they fit me perfectly! There were women of all shapes, sizes, and styles at the event and these work on everyone!

The goody bag which included: Cupcakes from the Primrose Bakery, 2 Wicked Good Cupcake Jars (I'm totally visiting their Boston location to try out other flavors!), a bag of Melitta coffee, and of course my new jeans which I wore during the event.

I had a great time at the event and I'm so glad I was able to attend!
