To start off my icons series I decided to start off with Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. Not only do we share a name, but a love for classic shapes, and timeless fashion. Jackie embodied class, style, and grace throughout her years in the public eye.
Jackie's First Lady Wardrobe 1961-1963
- Oleg Cassini dressed her in a majority of her iconic looks during her role as First Lady
- Although she loved Cassini, she wore ensembles from other designers including Givenchy, Dior, and Chanel
- Some of her favorite pieces included: a-line dresses, above-the-elbow gloves, pillbox hats, kitten heels.
- Her signature piece's of jewelry included: Kenneth Jay Lane triple-stand pearl necklace, Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. "berry brooch", Schlumberger "banana" earrings, Schlumberger gold and enamel bracelets [widely called "Jackie bracelets"], Van Cleef & Arpels wedding band
- Some of her favorite pieces included: wide-leg pantsuits, Hermes silk scarves, large round dark sunglasses, gypsy skirts, turtlenecks, large lapel jackets
- Jackie began to experiment with new styles of the 70's and 80's embracing new colors and patterns
