Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011 Details

Tonight the Victoria's Secret 16th annual fashion show took place in New York on November 9th, but will be airing tonight on CBS at 10pm ET. This years theme is "It's Show Time" and was divided into six smaller themes including "Aquatic Angels." Performances included Kanye West, Maroon 5, and Jay-Z.

The showstopper of tonight's show will most likely be Alessandra Ambrosio's 22-lb. gold-plated wings that are complete with 105,000 Swarovski crystals.

Of course, we can't forget Miranda Kerr who will be rocking the $2.5 million dollar fantasy bra, Miranda's husband Orlando Bloom cheered her on from the front row.

NYWICI Student Career Conference 2011

I arrived at the event bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and let me tell you, it was an event not to be missed. The morning began with a brunch and brief welcome address by NYWICI President Catherine Mathis. Mathis introduced Helen Wagner the Public Relations Manager at 3M who briefly spoke about key things to keep in your "career toolbox" such as perception and self-awareness. The most exciting part of the event (for me at least) was a one-hour keynote address by Ann Shoket, editor-in-chief of Seventeen Magazine. Ann is an inspiration to me; not only is she a fellow Philadelphian but she attended NYU- my dream school, and has my dream job! This is the second time I have heard Ann speak (previously was at another NYWICI event- see my event post here). Afterwards, Ann was signing copies of Seventeen Ultimate Guide to Style, which I of course had her sign- and check out the photo of us together!

The first panel session I attended was Digital, Social, and Mobile Media. I came in a few minutes late to this one after getting my book signed by Ann Shoket, but it was none the less a great session. A few quick tips I learned- put together an editorial calendar; create content people will want to interact with; individual experience is often more important versus working at a big company.

The second session I attended was From Print to Digital, sorry I didn't get a photo in this one, I didn't have a very good seat. A few tips I took away from this session- never use likes and ums as adjectives NO MATTER WHAT; be able to effectively pitch a story to anyone, be your own PR rep.

My final panel session I attended was Magazine Writing for Print & Online which was probably my favorite because the girls speaking all had some variation of a job I envy. A few tips I took away: be energetic and have gumption; make sure your email's always have a good subject line because it's the first thing someone sees.

The day concluded with Secrets to a Successful Job Search, a few tips I took away- be open to new ideas; send direct emails to put yourself out there; know who you are meeting with at an interview; tailor your resume; start an interview with an icebreaker.

Review: blinc Mascara

Mascara is a touchy subject for me. I don't like spending tons of money on mascara's that I can only use for 6 months before I have to throw them out. That's why I am always thrilled to receive samples of them with a purchase or in my Birchbox's.

blinc's mascara is unique because instead of simply painting your mascara it tubes them. I was slightly perplexed at first because I didn't know what "tubing" meant. When you take a look at the wand, it doesn't look like there is any product on it, but once you apply it tubes, separates, and curls like no other. It doesn't exactly volumize your lashes so if that's what you want this may not be for you.

Removing the mascara for the first time was a scary experience. I was afraid that may lashes were falling off when I saw little black lines falling off. I quickly realized that these were the tubes coming off of my lashes.

Style Icons: Grace Kelly

A fellow Philadelphian myself, Grace Kelly has always been an inspiration. She lived a beautiful life, and proved that anybody can marry French royalty!

Pre-Princess

• One of her most iconic film role's was playing Frances Stevens in Alfred Hitchcock's 1955 romantic mystery To Catch a Theif. Her coral and white top and skirt set designed by MGM costume designer Edith Head sold for $450,000 at a Debbie Reynolds auction in June 2011.

• Oleg Cassini (to whom she was briefly engaged to) designed a satin gown with flattering cuts she wore on the cover of Cosmopolitan

"Kelly" Bag

• In a 1956 issue of Life magazine, a newly pregnant Grace was photographed with her husband, and the Hermes Sac à dépêches to hide her growing baby bump. The media soon went into a frenzy and Hermes soon renamed the the Kelly bag.
