Glam It Yourself: Revive Your Hair-Do

In need of some hair restoration for summer? Do any of the following adjectives describe your hair? Try these treatments!


Dull and Drab? Try this Banana Deep Treatment...

-1 over ripe banana
Mash the banana until a creamy paste and apply to wet or dry hair. Leave in for 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly running a wide tooth comb through your hair to remove the banana. Shampoo and condition as normal after.

Greasy and Gross? Try this Herbal Shampoo...

-1/2 cup distilled water
-2 oz. liquid castile soap
-4 tsp. dried mint
-1 tsp. dried sage
-2/3 cup regular shampoo
Combine water and liquid soap before adding dried mint + sage and adding regular shampoo. Wash your hair with the shampoo before conditioning as usual. 

Damaged and Dry? Try this Avocado Deep Conditioner...

-2 eggs
-2 tbsp. olive oil
-1/2 ripe avocado
-2 oz. water
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and with your fingers apply to dry hair and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo as usual. 

Frizzy and Fried? Try this Rose-Oil Mask...

-1/2 cup coconut oil
-2 tbsp. rose water
-1/2 cup mixed fresh flower petals (rose, jasmine, etc)
Boil the coconut oil, rose water, and petals for three minutes in a pan. Let the mixture cool, strain it, and massage into your scalp. Wrap hair in a towel in 20 minutes before washing it out.

Flat and Firm? Try this Mint Tonic...

-2 oz. witch hazel
-2 oz. mouthwash
Mix ingredients together and apply the liquid to your scalp with a cotton ball. Massage into your scalp for five minutes and then shampoo and condition as usual.
