Maybelline recommends that you "apply lip color with applicator wand starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth, then glide across the entire bottom lip." Their method works well and leaves your lips super-saturated.

Overall, I'd definitely give these a try, they're hydrating, long-lasting, and pigmented and worth the $8.99 price tag.
I received both of these colors at the Maybelline x Style Haul booth at BeautyCon for free but that in no way alters my opinion.
